Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson Are Leading Candidates for Whitney Houston Biopic

It seems almost par for the course now that when a prominent person passes, a biopic is quickly put through the rumor mill. It happened with Michael Jackson and Steve Jobs and we've yet to hear anything about those proposed plans.

Now we're hearing buzz about a Whitney Houston biopic and the leading candidates are a pair of singers from the pop music world.

First, there's Rihanna, who's currently making news with her controversial relapse, sorry, re-teaming with Chris Brown aka the guy who brutally beat her the night before the 2010 Grammys.

The other leading candidate is former American Idol contestant and singer Jennifer Hudson, who already has an Oscar resting on her mantle or wherever she keeps it, for best supporting actress in 2006's Dreamgirls.

Other names being thrown out there include another former American Idol contestant, Jordin Sparks, who co-stars in Houston's final movie, Sparkle and Willow Smith, who, according to the rumor mill would portray Houston as a child. Vivica Fox is another name making the rounds.

Whether this movie ever gets off the ground or falls by the wayside, we'll have to see. For now, are you interested in watching a Whitney Houston biopic and if so, who should play her?
