'Revenge' Star Emily VanCamp Lands Female Lead in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'

It's been a long search filled with plenty of actresses rumored to play the female lead role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but at long last, it appears as though Marvel has found their Sharon Carter.

Deadline is reporting that Marvel Studios is in talks with Revenge star Emily VanCamp to play the female lead opposite Chris Evans in the 2014 sequel.

The film is being directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, best known for their work on the television series Community.

The site does not expressly say VanCamp is playing Carter, but if the Russo brothers are staying true to the comic story arc, then Agent 13 aka Sharon Carter would be the female lead character. The site also reports that Scarlett Johansson will bring her Black Widow character into the sequel as well.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is slated for an April 4, 2014 release. Do you like Marvel's selection of VanCamp for the role?
