Not only has the action-adventure undergone a complete 4K restoration, but you'll notice the sound quality has greatly improved over the original 1981 theatrical run and subsequent home video releases.
"When I saw the stunning quality of the picture and heard the enhanced sound in an IMAX theater, I was quite literally blown away and hope that audiences will enjoy the experience as much as I did," Spielberg said.
IMAX Chairman & President Greg Foster adds "We are honored to present all the excitement of Indiana Jones in a way it's never been experienced before – in IMAX. We look forward to celebrating this iconic film with longtime fans as well as a new generation of moviegoers."
And if you're concerned about whether Lucas made any changes to this film (like the recent widely-publicized changes in the re-released Star Wars BluRays, don't worry. Lucas didn't sanction any other changes to the film, other than adding Indy's name to the title.
Be sure to get your tickets here and re-live one of the most beloved films in movie history in IMAX! The film runs from September 7 thru September 13.
