Quick Hits: Oscar Hosts, Kidman Meets Pattinson, Jolie's 'Salt' Trailer and More!

Welcome to Quick Hits – your chance to catch up on some of this week's hottest stories in less than 60 seconds. Ready? Go!

Martin and Baldwin to Host Oscars – After Hugh Jackman, Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. passed on the gig, it's been announced that Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will co-host the Academy Awards when it airs on March 7th, 2010. Both men have worked together a number of times due to their involvement with Saturday Night Live (Martin has hosted 15 times while Baldwin has hosted 14 times), and Martin is a veteran Oscar host having done it twice before in 2000 and 2002. Kidman Meets Pattinson – According to Screen Daily, Nicole Kidman will star alongside Twilight's Robert Pattinson in Bel Ami, a biopic about a 19th Century French writer named Guy de Maupassant who slowly became one of the most powerful men in Paris in part by sleeping with a series of powerful, intelligent and wealthy mistresses. Kidman, we imagine, will take on the role of one of those mistresses. Hmm, a Kidman/Pattinson romance? What do you Twi-hards think about that?

Angelina Jolie's 'Salt' TrailerYahoo has just unveiled the first trailer for Angelina Jolie's spy flick Salt, in which the actress plays a CIA officer who's accused of being a secret Russian spy. Chock full of action, suspense and a little sexiness, Salt hits theaters next summer. Check out the trailer below…

'Roger Rabbit' Sequel News – The other day we told you how Robert Zemeckis was planning a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? sequel. Well, following up that announcement, the director told MTV that he plans to keep Roger and Jessica Rabbit in 2D, though all the characters around them will most likely be performance capture. So it seems like it's along the lines of what I suggested – a fish-out-of-water storyline in which Roger and Jessica must deal with the emergence of a new kind of animated technology.

New 'Sherlock Holmes' Trailer – And speaking of MTV, they've also just revealed a brand new trailer for Sherlock Holmes, which stars Robert Downey Jr. as the iconic detective and Jude Law as his trusty sidekick Watson. The film hits theaters Christmas Day and you can watch the trailer over at MTV.

'Scream 4' Story – We already know that Kevin Williamson is working on a new Scream trilogy that will feature Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox-Arquette and David Arquette reprising their roles from the original trilogy in some capacity, but we don't know what it will be about. Well, Williamson provided some more clues recently when he said, "The fourth one is an ensemble. It'll take place right now, 10 years later, and it's going to take place in Sidney's hometown of Woodsboro. We'll have our three main characters, and we'll be introducing several more." [JoBlo]

Walken Does Lady Ga Ga – And finally, for those Lady Ga Ga fans out there, check out the below video of Christopher Walken reciting Lady Ga Ga's "Poker Face" on a British television show. We don't know why he's doing this or who put him up to it, but we must admit to loving every minute of it. Walken fans should definitely have some fun with this. Enjoy.
