'Paranormal Activity 5' Green Lit for October 2013; Latino Spin-Off Due Spring 2013

Granted this doesn't come as much of a surprise, but after claiming the top spot at the box office and raking in $30 million domestically and an additional $26.5 internationally, the Paranormal Activity franchise is set to spawn a fifth movie next October.

Additionally, as we previously reported, a Latino spin-off has tentatively been set for a Spring 2013 release and will be directed by Disturbia co-writer Christopher Landon. The spin-off will include the demon from the regular Paranormal Activity series and star mostly Latino actors and film partly in Spanish.

Landon has also written the last three Paranormal Activity movies, so it isn't as though he's coming into the franchise cold.

Paranormal Activity 4 debuted with the softest opening of the three sequels. Paranormal 3 opened with $52.5 million while Paranormal 2 pulled in just over $40 million during their respective opening weekends. Even more disturbing is that Paranormal 4 opened on more screens that the previous two sequels and averaged a smaller per-screen average.

Which brings us to wonder, might Paranormal Activity 5 be the final haunting? Did you see Paranormal Activity 4? Would you be up for a fifth movie and will you consider checking out the spin-off?
