This afternoon, Paramount, in conjunction with IMAX revealed something we've only seen a very, very brief clip of to date.
The studio announced that on December 14, a world premiere extended preview of J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated Star Trek sequel Star Trek Into Darkness will screen in 500 select IMAX theaters.
The footage will be presented in IMAX 3D and run nine minutes.
"Our longtime partners J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk and the Bad Robot ream have really hit it out of the park – the footage is absolutely incredible," IMAX President and Chairman Greg Foster said. "Their use of the MAX camera and canvas is sure to impress current and future Star Trek fans alike, and we're thrilled to once again work with our friends at Paramount Pictures to offer this extended 'first look' at this highly anticipated summer blockbuster."
Star Trek into Darkness is due in theaters on May 17, 2013.
