Nicolas Cage Will 'Drive Angry' in 3D!

I know you woke up this morning hoping and praying that today would be the day for Hollywood to announce a 3D movie starring Nicolas Cage. That was you, right? You rigged up a little Nicolas Cage shrine, and when you look at it a certain way, the man kind of appears to be yelling in 3D? It's cool, I have one in my basement. And to add to that – we've got awesome news: The Hollywood Reporter tells us that we will be getting a Nic Cage film in 3D…and it's a doozy to boot!

According to THR, Nu Image/Millennium Films will begin work on Drive Crazy in April of next year (for a 2010 or 2011 release), and it will star Nicolas Cage as a man out for revenge after a gang kills his daughter and kidnaps her baby. Apparently the man then chases this gang down the highway where things get bloody crazy…in 3D.
The film actually sounds so over the top that it could be pretty cool – not to mention it's the perfect over-acting vehicle (pun intended) for Cage, who loves to throw a little ridiculousness into each of his roles. What do you think? Is Hollywood getting a little 3D happy? Do you welcome this new trend, or are you already tired of it?
