Lin-Manuel Miranda

Mary Poppins: Broadway star and musical composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) is in talks to star with Emily Blunt in the sequel to Mary Poppins. Miranda, who composed the music for the cantina scene in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is expected to help develop new songs as well. [Variety]

Dan and Kevin Hageman (The Lego Movie) have been hired to write a new version of the screenplay for Scary Stories, an adaptation of Alvin Schwartz's trilogy Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. The writers previously worked with del Toro on Trollhunters, his animated series for Netflix. [THR]
