News Bites: Sigourney Weaver Will Return for 'Avatar' Sequels

Avatar: Director James Cameron has confirmed that Sigourney Weaver will be returning for all three Avatar sequels. For reasons that are well-known to those who saw the original movie, she'll be playing a different character; she's joining Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Stephen Lang. The sequels will be shot back-to-back; production begins later this year, with the first sequel due out in December 2016. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Napoleon Dynamite: Jon Heder poses with a brand new statue of Napoleon Dynamite, the character he played in the movie of the same name. The statue was unveiled in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the film's release in the summer of 2004. Writer-director Jared Hess and other members of the original cast were also present for the unveiling on the Fox Studios lot; the movie is available on Blu-ray in a special anniversary edition. Hail, Caesar!: George Clooney and Josh Brolin are reuniting with the Coen brothers for their next picture, Hail, Caesar! The comedy is set in 1950s Hollywood and follows a "fixer" who helps movie studios protect their stars from gossip-minded reporters and scandalmongers. Clooney worked with the Coens on O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Intolerable Cruelty and Burn After Reading, while Brolin starred in the filmmaking duo's No Country for Old Men and True Grit. Heatstroke Trailer: Maisie Williams and her scientist father (Stephen Dorff) run afoul of poachers in Africa, leading to a life-or-death struggle in the exciting first trailer for Heatstroke.
