Star Wars Rebels

Star Wars Rebels: Ahead of the premiere of the first trailer for Star Wars Rebels this coming Sunday, May 4, new images from the animated series have debuted, featuring Imperial Stormtroopers and explosives-expert Sabine. The series is part of the official Star Wars canon that includes all the Star Wars movies; it takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and Star Wars: Episode IV. It will air this fall on Disney XD. Marvel's The Sinister Six

The Sinister Six: As "It's on Again" by Alicia Keys (featuring Kendrick Lamar) plays over the closing credits of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, fans can use mobile app Shazam to have the end credits downloaded to their mobile devices; images are embedded that show traditional Sinister Six villains from Marvel's comic books: Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Rhino, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio. For the forthcoming movie version of The Sinister Six, however, writer-director Drew Goddard is still finalizing the script, so the final six villains could be different. Production may begin as early as January 2015. [Coming Soon/The Wrap]

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

The Snowman: The haunted detective Harry Hole, created by popular Norwegian crime novelist Jo Nesbo, will finally be coming to the big screen, courtesy of the very fine Swedish director Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - pictured). The Snowman, the seventh in a series of 10 novels (so far), finds the detective on the trail of Norway's first serial killer; Martin Scorsese was previously attached to direct. [Variety]

Blended TV Spot: Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore reunite for the first time since 2004's Fifty First Dates in the family comedy Blended, due out in theaters on May 23. A new TV spot sticks to the basics: wacky characters, sight gags and a gorgeous setting (a wildlife park in South Africa). [Warner Bros.]
