News Bites: 'Ghostbusters' Is Returning to Theaters This Summer


Ghostbusters: The beloved modern comedy classic Ghostbusters will be returning to movie theaters across America on August 29. The limited return engagement, featuring a restored and remastered version, honors the film's 30th anniversary, and is also timed to coincide with new home video releases of the original as well as the sequel. The Imitation Game: Benedict Cumberbatch plays World War II code breaker Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, which is heading to theaters on November 21. The real-life character, a brilliant mathematician, was later prosecuted for being gay. New photos show him on the job -- with Keira Knightley in the background -- and also dealing with the Nazi threat. []

The Magnificent Seven: Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua are in talks to reunite for a remake of The Magnificent Seven. The 1960 Western, itself a remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 classic Seven Samurai, revolves around a Mexican village whose besieged residents hire gunfighters to defend them against a marauding gang of invaders. Fuqua directed Washington's Academy Award-winning performance in Training Day, and the two recently teamed for The Equalizer, due out in September. [Variety]

Are You Here Trailer: An excellent cast is showcased in the first trailer for Are You Here, written and directed by Matthew Weiner (the creator of TV's Mad Men). As the trailer explains, Zach Galifianakis is having trouble dealing with the death of his father, and then an unexpected inheritance creates further complications. Owen Wilson plays his best friend, with Amy Poehler as his sister; the movie is due out on August 22. [Yahoo]
