Skull Island

Skull Island: Officially announced at Comic-Con last weekend, the King Kong prequel Skull Island is heading toward a release date of November 4, 2016 -- but first, it needs a director. Legendary Pictures has reportedly offered the position to Joe Cornish, who got Hollywood's attention for directing the low-budget creature feature Attack the Block and cowriting early versions of Ant-Man with Edgar Wright. No word yet on whether Cornish will accept. [Deadline]


Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children: Eva Green (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) is currently in negotiations to play the lead role in Tim Burton's upcoming movie Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. The actress, who previously worked with the director on Dark Shadows, would star as a guardian for orphans with special powers as they come under attack by creatures on an isolated island. See No Evil 2

See No Evil 2 Trailer: A sequel to the 2006 horror original See No Evil 2 features the return of Jacob Goodnight (Kane), who has come back to life to threaten the staff at a hospital morgue. Danielle Harris and Katharine Isabelle star; the movie hits Video on Demand on October 17. [MovieClips]
