New 'Skyfall' Video Feature Takes James Bond Fans Underwater

The team behind Sam Mendes’ upcoming James Bond thriller, Skyfall, has done an excellent job taking 007 fans behind the scenes for the various production phases on the anticipated sequel. It’s like having access to a menu of Blu-ray or DVD supplements on costuming, location shots, and more … long before the movie even opens in theaters.
Bond, over the years, has fought enemies everywhere, from atop the Golden Gate Bridge to deep in outer space. His latest fight will take place underwater (for a portion of the film, at least), and this new production video takes us into the water-tank stage at the legendary Pinewood Studios, where the majority of Bond’s film work is completed.
“Daniel’s pretty game for anything,” we’re told in the clip, and it sure seems like it, as Craig wrestles with a foe while submerged in a murky sea. The video diary also does an excellent job of explaining how an underwater scene needs to be lit, so that the actors’ efforts aren’t lost to muddy cinematography. It’s an interesting clip.
Daniel Craig returns for his third Bond adventure when Skyfall opens on Nov. 9. The cast also includes Dame Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Wishaw and Javier Bardem as Bond’s chief nemesis.
