Crazy, Stupid, Love Oddly and annoyingly punctuated title aside, this ensemble comedy rises above the level of generic rom-com--it's really more of a dramedy, eschewing madcap setups, caricature and slapstick for a sweet storyline that doesn't sugar-coat the fact that relationships, in the end, are hard work. It's not groundbreaking, but the acting is solid and the characters are actually interesting. Extras: Deleted scenes (DVD/BD); the BD adds a bar conversation between Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling on their roles and true love, Gosling and Emma Stone discuss making their love scenes, and UltraViolet digital copy and DVD version.
Cars 2 Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) team up for an overseas World Grand Prix, only to get sidetracked by an international espionage situation and top-secret mission. The Cars movies weren't critical favorites, but for home viewing, this sequel is perfectly fine to park your kids in front of (you adults may want to use the time for something else). Extras: All-new short with Mater, theatrically released short Hawaiian Vacation, director commentary (DVD/2-disc BD combo); a 5-disc BD combo adds "World Tour Interactive," "Sneak Peek: The Nuts and Bolts of Cars Land."
Water for Elephants Robert Pattinson is a guy from the wrong side of the tracks who joins the circus after dropping his veterinary studies, and falls for the Big Top's star (Reese Witherspoon). Christoph Waltz is the standout here as the tyrant ringmaster she's married to, who abuses the entire operation. Extras: Commentary, behind-the-scenes featurettes (DVD/BD); the BD adds several additional featurettes.
Also new on Blu: Scrooged, A Better Tomorrow (BD and DVD debut), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Cop Land: Collector's Series, It's a Wonderful Life collector's set with booklet, ornament and new documentary.
