Paramount has been assembling a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for quite some time now. After passing the script through various teams of writers, including the writers of Iron Man and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, it appears the reboot now has a director.

Jonathan Liebesman, better known as the guy who directed Battle: Los Angeles and the upcoming Clash of the Titans sequel, Wrath of the Titans, has reportedly been hired to direct.
According to /Film, the new re-imagining of the famous cartoon series will include the Foot as well as Casey Jones and April O'Neil as a protagonist duo. The movie will also use a Rise of the Planet of the Apes CGI motion capture approach to creating the Turtles.
There is no casting for any of the characters at this point, but if Liebesman does indeed sign on to direct and the script has been ironed out, expect to hear some actors' names start spinning in the rumor mill.
The last Ninja Turtles movie hit the big screen in 2007 and grossed $95 million worldwide.
Are you up for more Ninja Turtle action? What do you think of the CGI motion capture approach?
