New 'Burlesque' Clip Shows Christina Aguilera at Her Finest

Last week we brought you the first trailer for Christina Aguilera’s Burlesque, and a lot of you chimed in to let us know how much you were looking forward to seeing the singer-turned-actress in her big-screen debut. The trailer made it pretty obvious that the film would be more of a showcase for Aguilera (and possibly a comeback for Cher) than anything else, and this newly released clip backs that up by giving fans a taste of what they should expect come November 14th.

The clip – or, as some would call it, an extended music video – features Aguilera (as her small town character Ali Rose) closing up a dusty old shop before popping a few cents into a jukebox and then hopping up on a makeshift wooden stage for a pretty snazzy version of ‘Something’s Got a Hold on Me’. If you didn’t think this girl has singing chops before, then this should be enough to convince you. I mean, damn! Can she belt out a tune, or what?!
The film itself (wait, there’s an actual film?) follows Ali Rose from her small town roots to the big city in search of even bigger dreams. It’s there that she lands work as a waitress at a Burlesque club where it’ll take a dance number or two to convince the club’s owner Tess (Cher) that she’s got what it takes to be a star.
Watch the clip below (courtesy of Moviefone) and let us know what you think.
