Just days ago we were treated to a new still image from Steven Spielberg's 3D motion-capture adaptation of Georges "Hergé" Remi's Belgian comic book series, The Adventures of Tintin. Today we get the trailer, that allows us to get a better look at the animation, which was previously met with a lot of scrutiny, but appears to be a dazzling and convincing complement to the globe-trotting reporter's intriguing exploits.
The UK trailer gives us a peek at the dramatic adventures that await Tintin (Jamie Bell) after he discovers directions to a sunken ship that was manned by Captain Haddock – played by no stranger to the mo-cap method, Andy Serkis who also plays Haddoc's ancestor, Sir Francis Haddock. Nick Frost and Simon Pegg provide some comic relief (duh) as the bumbling detectives, and of course there's Snowy Tintin's dog. The ship in question is the Unicorn in Spielberg's title, which was attacked by Daniel Craig's pirate Red Rackham.
Swift adventures, imagination, and mystery abound – which will be nice to see detailed in an eventual high-res trailer. While it seems that WETA and company have some more work cut out for them in order to refine the animation, are you getting more comfortable with the style of things and starting to look forward to seeing Tintin's tale on the big screen?
