Sequel News: Dumb and Dumber, Wolverine: “So you’re telling me there’s a chance?” That’s what Dumb and Dumber fans likely will be thinking today when they hear that Jeff Daniels told reporters over the weekend that a Dumber sequel may still happen.

“Jim wants to do it. I want to do it. The Farrellys want to do it,” Daniels told CraveOnline. They want to rewrite the script a little bit and they aren’t trying to jam it in before I have to go back and do Newsroom in November. So they’re going, ‘Why don’t we just do it right? Let’s get everybody organized to go next May or June.’ If everything works out on the business side, that’s what we’ll do, but I think there’s more hope than ever.”

Speaking of sequels that were long in development, The Wolverine is officially underway, with Hugh Jackman reprising the role of Marvel’s favorite berserker mutant once again. The movie’s currently filming in New South Wales, with James Mangold at the helm. Set photos have been leaking online at a steady clip. SuperheroHype has the latest, which show a bearded (and terrifying) Jackman in character. If all goes according to plan, The Wolverine will be in theaters July 2013.

And Etc.: Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer also secured a release date: April 11, 2014 (according to ScreenCrush). The film’s an action-heavy remake of an ‘80s television series that casts Washington as a retired secret agent who tries to atone for his past sins by offering his services to innocent people who feel they have been wronged. He’s like a one-man A-Team … and if anyone can pull it off, it’s Denzel.
