Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan Want to be ‘Carrie’

Last week it was announced that MGM and Screen Gems would team up to remake Stephen King’s 1976 horror movie Carrie. Over the weekend, reps for Megan Fox say that the actress is interested in playing the lead role stating that Fox is seeking to distance herself from her Transformers persona. Fox reportedly turned down the Wonder Woman role that eventually went to Adrienne Palicki and withdrew her name from future DC Comics movies that would call for the role.

For those who aren’t familiar with the character, Carrie is a homely high school student with telekinetic powers who gets pushed too far during prom night. The original adaptation was directed by Brian De Palma and starred Sissy Spacek in the role. The movie was remade for TV in 2002 with Angela Bettis in the Carrie role.
The 25-year-old Fox is considered one of the most attractive women on the planet and one has to wonder if her looks and age would stand in the way of landing this role. Rumor is that if Fox does not secure the Carrie role, she will break from Hollywood for a starring role on Broadway.
Word out today has Lindsay Lohan possibly throwing her name into the contenders ring. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, King said, “Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg.” Meanwhile Lohan was, “stoked,” to hear King mention her name and said working with King, “would be epic.”
So what do you think? Would either one of these actresses do justice to the role and if not, who would you cast in this remake?
