Meet Captain America's Awesome Stunt Double

CBS Sunday Morning recently did a feature on the role these performers play in making movie magic come to life, and if you’re curious about the history of stunts in Hollywood and some of the folks who make the impossible possible, this is essential viewing.

The 10-minute segment covers a lot of ground – from some of the earliest stunts ever captured, to more modern work on films like Captain America: The Winter Soldier (which includes lots of great insight from Chris Evans' stunt double Sam Hargrave), but it’s a fascinating (and in at least one case, heartbreaking and terrifying) look into the work of men and women who put their lives on the line for our entertainment. Check out more of Hargrave's crazy movie stunts below.

With films relying more and more on CGI and other visual trickery, it’s easy to forget that there are real people taking the bumps and bruises in the increasingly more elaborate action sequences we demand from our entertainment – but this clip will give you a peek behind the scenes to see how all those breathtaking moments are made, while giving you a new appreciation for the men and women who make them possible.
