Ready for more of Matt Damon's quick-thinking, ex-assassin Bourne? He might not be. The aging actor told Parade magazine that being a daddy is taking its toll. "Listen, when I did the first movie, I was 29 years old. I am 37 now and after a tough fighting scene, the next day you wake up and feel your body more. That's just the way it is."
Even if he were up for the deadly fistfights and whiplashing car chases, a script is still pending. "We're working on it," Damon says. "This time it would be from an original script rather than a book by Robert Ludlum. But the director, Paul Greengrass, is busy and I am too, so we'll see what happens."
It shouldn't bother fans of the Ludlum novels too much that Bourne 4 won't be based on the source material—the films have already strayed far from it. Interested in seeing a 37-year-old Jason Bourne in action? Or should the trilogy be left as is?
