Mark Wahlberg In Early Talks for 'Transformers 4'

Granted this is very much in the rumor stage and goes completely against what was reported last week about Transformers 4 looking to cast a female lead, but Twitch is reporting that Michael Bay is in early talks to re-team with his Pain and Gain leading man Mark Wahlberg.

The move could make sense s Wahlberg is a reliable action star and is currently riding a string of hits. The question remains though, should Wahlberg join the cast, would it be in a supporting character role or would Ehren Kruger, who has penned that last two Transformers scripts and is in charge of this latest installment make a few tweaks to what he has on paper right now.

One idea revolves around an adult star (the role Wahlberg is up for) and his teenage child. The thought here is that the child would then grow to be the focus of subsequent entries in the series.

Twitch has been pretty reliable with these sort of rumors in the past, so we'll keep our eyes open for any further developments.

In the meanwhile, tell us which path you prefer – the previously mentioned female teen lead and her race car driving boyfriend or Wahlberg and child joining Optimus to take on those dastardly Decipticons.
