It was only a matter of time before Zack Snyder's Man of Steel got the 3D treatment. This afternoon, Warner Bros. announced that the upcoming 2013 summer tentpole will indeed be presented in "3D in select theaters."
The film had already locked in regular 2D and IMAX formats, but with the lucrative 3D market (especially in international markets), a conversion into 3D was simply a matter of when and not if.
"The film is going to be a visually exciting experience in all formats: 2D, 3D and IMAX. Anticipating how audiences today embrace 3D, we designed and photographed the movie in a way that would allow Man of Steel to captivate those movie goers, while respecting fans who prefer a more traditional cinematic experience. We've taken great measures to ensure the film and the story come first, and 3D is meant as an enhancement," Snyder said in the statement.
Man of Steel is slated to be released on June 14, 2013. Will you pay the extra surcharge to watch this movie in 3D or will regular 2D be sufficient?
