Summer Movies 2017 News

Listen: The Biggest Cannes Film Festival Movies, Plus: Is 'Star Trek Into Darkness' Worth Seeing?

As we begin to adjust to the summer movie season, another part of the world is watching movies that may become awards contenders later this fall and winter. The 2013 Cannes Film Festival is now underway in France following an opening night screening of The Great Gatsby, and on this week's podcast Erik Davis and Sean O'Connell run you through some of the bigger, more awards-friendly movies premiering there.

Also, how can we not talk about Star Trek Into Darkness -- I mean, c'mon! Expect a non-spoilerish chat about what we thought of this sequel to J.J. Abrams' 2009 reboot, as well as whether the film holds clues to what Abrams has planned for his Star Wars sequel next.

As always, thanks for listening and please let us know your thoughts on today's discussion in the comments and poll below.
