Last night an 8-minute trailer for David Fincher's adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo sneak-screened in front of press screenings of Straw Dogs, and now today Disney has coincidentally (?) released a new trailer for The Muppets that plays off the first Dragon Tattoo teaser trailer, featuring snippets of different scenes all cut at a frantic pace, intertwined with a funny message about doing another trailer parody and not being able to get rights to the "real song" (meaning Zed Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" from the Dragon Tattoo trailer) and so they had some guy create this one in return for putting him in the movie.
If you've been following the Muppets marketing campaign, you'll know this isn't the first time they've parodied a trailer for an upcoming movie. It's a great idea, and very much in the spirit of the Muppets themselves. Kudos to Disney for keeping with it, because all it does is make us want to see the film, like, yesterday. Unfortunately we still have to wait till November 23rd.
Check out a few of the trailers (including the newest up top) below. Wocka Wocka Wocka.
