'Kick-Ass 2' International Trailer Puts Focus Back on Hit-Girl

Kick-Ass 2, the sequel to the DIY superhero hit, pulls its story from two graphic novel sequels imagined by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. One focused on Kick-Ass, the hero created by not-so-milld-mannered Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson). And the other was based in the teenager Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz), who takes center stage in an international trailer (you can watch the red band version here) that shines its light on the pint-sized partner to our crime-fighting protagonist:

A big part of Kick-Ass 2 will involve Mindy (Moretz) trying to balance a “normal” life with the one she leads in the evenings … taking the fight to the streets in hopes of wiping out crime. As you can see, it’s nearly impossible for Mindy to bury her alter-ego, Hit-Girl – especially when a new group of superheroes forms under the leadership of a new character, Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey).
On a related note, ComingSoon has a brand new Colonel character poster, which you might want to add to your wall (if you love disturbing mug shots):
Also, this afternoon, a Hit-Girl character poster landed online.
Kick-Ass 2 drops into theaters at the end of the summer, on Aug. 16. Grab your tickets soon!
