Kevin Smith is set to make one more movie before he retires (the hockey dramedy Hit Somebody), but that doesn't necessarily mean the films that he made in the past won't live on in some other format.
According to /Film, the director said, "There's possibly a Clerks 3. If I have something to say in my late 40s about being in my late 40s, I'll think of Dante and Randal. Shy of that, I don't have any more movies I want to make."
If you've been following Smith's Twitter account, you'll know that he's become obsessed with The Book of Mormon, and has been inspired to possibly do Clerks 3 as a 6-month limited run Broadway play.
Bringing Clerks to the Broadway stage makes sense, actually. Considering Smith has never been a very visual director, a play would focus on his strengths - characters and dialogue. He tweeted that he'd like to launch the show at the end of 2014.
Do you think bringing Clerks to Broadway is a good idea and would you buy a ticket?
