Joe Wright's period drama Anna Karenina is up against some heavy competition when it arrives in theaters November 9. The film, which re-teams Wright with Keira Knightley for the third time, will open up against the latest Bond film Skyfall as well as Steven Spielberg's awards bait Lincoln.
While Anna Karenina has released a few stills featuring Knightley, Jude Law and Aaron Johnson, we haven't seen any footage… until now.
Wright introduces this six-minute clip from the film which features the principle characters by talking about how the production utilized a rundown theater during filming. Over 100 interconnected sets were built for use in the film.
The clip features fluid movement between sets, beginning in a beautiful ballroom where she is pursued by Count Vronsky (Johnson) and ending in Anna's chambers where she has a contentious discussion with Alexei (Law).
Anna Karenina was adapted by Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love, Empire of the Sun) from the famous Leo Tolstoy novel. Take a look at the clip below and tell us if you're interested in this film. Does it have a shot during awards season?
