‘Justice League’ Movie in the Works, Plus More ‘Batman’ Movies

They’re baaack! Fans may remember how a couple years ago Warner Bros. was planning a big-budget Justice League movie featuring an ensemble cast full of relative unknowns. The film was eventually scrapped due to several things (an exploding budget and lack of tax incentives being just two of the larger issues at hand), and everyone went their separate ways. Now, with Marvel gearing up for their own epic superhero team-up movie in The Avengers, Warner Bros. is itching to jump-start their old Justice League clunker again.

Justice League

In a new report over at Hero Complex, Warner Bros.’ Jeff Robinov says there’s a Justice League script in the works, and apparently they want to have a movie in theaters in 2013 (which would be difficult to pull off, but not impossible). In addition to Justice League, they’re also working on scripts for The Flash and Wonder Woman, not to mention beginning to brainstorm ways to continue the Batman franchise past The Dark Knight Rises, which will be the last installment Christopher Nolan is directing.
Good news for Batman fans is that Robinov says Nolan will be back to produce the next Batman movie after The Dark Knight Rises, however the words "reinvent" and "reboot" were mentioned, meaning there will be no Batman 4, and instead the franchise could do what Spider-Man just did and start all over again, or do what Superman is attempting and simply launch one-off solo Batman movies featuring the same or different actors playing Bruce Wayne/Batman.
The big news here, though, is Justice League. While there’s no way I see them getting this in theaters by 2013, it should be interesting to see whether Warners and DC follow the Marvel cross-promo model or do something completely different. What do you think?
