Here is the official, just released poster for Righteous Kill...and I'm not exactly sure what else to say. "Everbody respects the gun" says the tag line. But apparently, not everyone respects proper lighting. I love Raging Bull and The Godfather as much as the next guy. But the harsh overhead glare and the close-up on our heroes does no one, especially them, any favors. Back in 1995, Michael Mann did an excellent job of highlighting the strengths of this power duo with his epic cop thriller Heat. And the studio marketing team came up with a fine poster to match, featuring stylized shots of both actors and Val Kilmer, framed in a blue, smoky hue, with a scene from the movie in the lower frame. Here, I hate to say it, but the poster just looks tired...it's Grumpier Old Men with guns. I'm still going to see it, and I'll be hoping for the best, but I don't know, what do you all think?
