Just How Ridiculously Insane is 'Piranha 3DD'?

The world was shocked, dismayed and heartbroken when the release date for Piranha 3DD was pushed back to some undetermined date in 2012. The film, which reunites the Project Greenlight team of writers Marcus Dunstan, Patrick Melton and director John Gulager, will reportedly track a pre-historic piranha attack inside a newly opened waterpark. It stars folks like Ving Rhames, Chris Zylka, Katrina Bowden, David Hasselhoff, David Koechner and Gary Busey, who recently chatted up the sequel to Empire.

So just how ridiculously insane will Piranha 3DD be? According to Mr. Busey, even more ridiculous than you think. He tells Empire, "I play a farmer. A cow explodes because of its farting ability and out of it come hundreds of piranha, raining down on me. You'll see how I treat one of them."

We'll allow you to ponder that concept with no further comment.

Also in the interview, Busey lays out his idea for a strange movie about a wilderness expert who fights the Crips and Bloods ... or something. "I’ve got a great one. There’s a guy, he’s a wilderness guy, and he comes in to civilization and tunes into the world news. He learns about the gangs - the Crips and the Bloods and such - and builds a camp for them. Near that part of the woods the wilderness man senses a very negative vibration, and they don’t know what evil lurks there but there is evil. And what happens is at first the Crips and the Bloods start attacking each other, people are getting stabbed, but then the wilderness man comes in and starts taking them on, and there’s no way they can handle him, so he starts teaching them self-defence."

Oh Busey, if only he did more interviews, the world would be a funnier place. Piranha 3DD -- farting cows and all -- hits theaters at some point next year. (When are farting cows in season?)
