'Juno' and 'Once' Win Indie Spirits

Any awards show that ends with Rainn Wilson and Philip Seymour Hoffman engaged in a faux wrestling match is o.k. by me. Given that it was the Indie Spirit Awards, the spontaneous and sometimes uneven live telecast (hosted by The Office's Wilson, an inspired choice) made the show itself seem a lot like an indie film. In the end, I'm just really happy that Juno (my second favorite movie of '07) wound up winning Best Feature, and even more ecstatic that Once (my favorite of '07) was named Best Foreign Film. Take that Academy! For more Independent Spirit winners, check out our Awards Watch section. And in a few short hours, it's on to the big night...
