Josh Brolin to Meet Will Smith in 'Men in Black 3'?

Can Will Smith manage to fit Men in Black 3 into his busy schedule, or will we have to settle for some new recruits in the third installment? That's the big question on everyone's minds today as The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Josh Brolin is circling a leading role in the other-worldly sequel. Just who exactly he'd be playing is up for discussion, though, since a number of different possibilities are being tossed around – including a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones' character Agent K, to a new recruit replacement of Agent K. And though it's not mentioned, I wouldn't mind seeing Brolin in the role of villain, too.

The good news for Smith fans is that THR says the actor is expected to return, though there's currently no word on when production on the film would begin since for some reason it still hasn't been greenlit. Men in Black and Men in Black II director Barry Sonnenfeld is also expected to return to work off a script from Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder). The tricky part for Brolin (and the studio) is to now figure out when the actor will have time to take on the role, as he'll be pretty busy next year filming parts in the Coen Bros. remake of True Grit and the mafia crime drama Cartel.
What do you think about Men in Black 3? Are you excited for another sequel, and could you see Josh Brolin hunting aliens alongside Will Smith?
