Joseph Gordon-Levitt Takes Us on a Bike Messenger Thrill-Ride in 'Premium Rush' Trailer

There aren't many bike messenger movies these days. Last one we remember being worth our time was the 1986 Kevin Bacon flick Quicksilver, but now Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks to change that. His upcoming thriller Premium Rush just landed a pretty badass trailer that looks like a lot of fun. The film stars Gordon-Levitt as a bike messenger who picks up a package that attracts the interest of a dirty cop (Michael Shannon) who's willing to stop at nothing to get it back.

Thus begins a bike race through the streets of New York  that looks (and probably feels) like the cameras were injected with multiple shots of adrenaline. Gordon-Levitt and Michael Shannon have emerged as two of today's best actors, and pitting them against each other in this should be exciting to watch, at the very least. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think. Premium Rush hits theaters on January 13th, 2012.
