Jennifer Lawrence Explains What She Has in Common with Katniss Everdeen; Cast In Remake of 'East of Eden'

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is still a couple of months away from arriving in theaters but the second chapter to the Suzanne Collins trilogy is being pegged as the biggest movie of the fall.

Jennifer Lawrence graces the cover of the current issue of Empire magazine as Katniss Everdeen which offers up a preview of winter movies (you can check out our Fall Movie Roundup here).

In an interview with the magazine, Lawrence was asked what she had in common with her on-screen heronie character. Here's what she said:

In addition to her on-going role in The Hunger Games and X-Men franchises, Lawrence has been cast in a remake of John Steinbeck's East of Eden. Gary Ross, who directed the first Hunger Games movie in all it's shaky cam glory is directing. Lawrence will play the role of Abra Bacon in the film. The character was portrayed by Julie Harris in the 1955 version that co-starred James Dean. No release date has been set, but given Lawrence's very busy schedule a 2015 release seems possible.
