Jason Reitman Takes on 'Labor Day' with Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin

Academy Award-nominated writer/director Jason Reitman is taking on a holiday-themed movie. But this won’t be like the Gary Marshall celeb-fests we’ve seen with Valentine’s Day and the upcoming New Year’s Eve.

The movie is adapted from a novel by Joyce Maynard of the same title which tells the story of an escaped convict who seeks shelter with a single mom and her young son over the long holiday weekend.
Josh Brolin will play the role of the convict while Kate Winslet will take on the single mom role.
Reitman recently wrapped the upcoming dramedy Young Adult, starring Charlize Theron, which arrives in theaters December 9. He earned an Oscar nomination in 2010 for Up in the Air starring George Clooney.
For those who have read the book, do you like Brolin and Winslet in these roles?
