It's Official. Lindsay Lohan to Portray Elizabeth Taylor in TV Biopic

A while back we posted about Lindsay Lohan being in talks to portray late screen legend Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime biopic titled Liz & Dick. Well, after months of negotiations, Deadline reports that Lohan has signed on to play Taylor in the biopic chronicling the enduring and public romance between Taylor and Richard Burton.

Regarding the announcement, Lohan said, "I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role."

Conversely, Lifetime executive VP of programming Rob Sharenow added, "We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon."
