While the producers of the next James Bond movie figure out who is going to be sitting in the director's chair, it looks like the film may be close to landing a new Bond Girl.
Penelope Cruz is reportedly in talks to play a character in the next Bond movie. If Cruz signs on, the 40-year-old Spanish actress will become the oldest Bond Girl ever.
Yahoo UK's source states, "The producers have tried to get Penelope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now."
Cruz is currently pregnant with her second child with Skyfall star Javier Bardem and is due "any day now." She won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Woody Allen's 2008 drama Vicky Christina Barcelona.
Sam Mendes, who helmed Skyfall, is currently in talks to direct the next two Bond movies which will also mark the end of Daniel Craig's run as 007.
