'Iron Man 3' Trailer Finally Arrives … With a Bang! Plus Five More New Pics!

After days of teasing, which included exclusive photos and a stylish new poster, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures finally pulled back the curtain on their Iron Man 3 trailer … and things have never looked worse for Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.)

When last we saw our billionaire, playboy philanthropist, he was riding off into the sunset after helping defeat the Norse god Loki in The Avengers. But the battle in the borough took its toll on the normally arrogant Stark. He fears for his beloved Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow), in the wake of all the fresh enemies who want to kill him. And his precious Malibu mansion’s about to enter the sea … with Iron Man buried beneath it.

Director Shane Black, taking over the Iron Man reigns from Jon Favreau, looks like he has absolutely no problem with action. This clip is packed with eye-popping aerial photography, and convincing destruction. Iron Man 3 looks devastating, in the best way possible.

Marvel Studio executives have talked about popping Stark’s inflated ego, of returning him back to the cave of the first film, where he has to rely on his intelligence to survive. The closing shot of our hero trekking through the snow, with his chest glowing … it’s a tremendous visual. It has me so very excited for this third Iron Man.

The sequel will hit theaters on May 3, kicking off the 2013 summer blockbuster season. Here’s the trailer. Give it a look, then share your thoughts below!
