Hurray for New 'Prince of Persia' Images!

All I really need to say is “Jake Gyllenhaal rides a horse with long, flowing wet hair,” and I’m sure that’d be enough to snag the attention of you ladies out there. No worries guys, Gemma Arterton is pretty easy on the eyes as well (heck, I’d have her as my princess any day of the week). Those of you who attended Comic-Con and were upset that Disney didn’t bring the much buzzed-about Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time with them will be happy to learn that Empire has released a few additional photos from the film – some of which show a beefed-up Gyllenhaal rescuing his love interest (Arterton) from a dangerous … fountain!

Based on the popular video game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time follows a sword-fighting prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an unruly baddie from unleashing a wicked sandstorm that could destroy the world. Said baddie will be played by the great Ben Kingsley, while Alfred Molina also chimes into the cast with some adventurous spirit as well.

From what I managed to see while visiting the set for Prince of Persia last year, there will be tons of really cool action sequences and gorgeous photography. Definitely a true sword-and-sandals flick, which fits right into the Disney realm and should be a good time all around. Check out two images from the film in this post and head over to Empire for more.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time hits theaters on May 28, 2010.
