'Hunger Games' Casts Wiress; Lindsay Lohan Still Circling 'Scary Movie 5'

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has found its Wiress. Amanda Plummer -- whose credits include Pulp Fiction, The Fisher King, and Joe Versus the Volcano -- has been added to the ensemble of Francis Lawrence’s sequel, scheduled to open Nov. 22, 2013.
Wiress, in Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games world, was a female tribute from District 3 who returned to the killing field of the arena for the 75th Hunger Games, where she became an eventual ally of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence). It’s a good part, and Plummer’s a good actress.
Lionsgate confirmed Plummer’s casting in a press release. In addition to Lawrence, Plummer joins Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz and Philip Seymour Hoffman, who was cast as Plutarch Heavensbee earlier. Producers have yet to cats the coveted role of Finnick Odair, though, so stay tuned.
Say what you will about Lindsay Lohan, her movie career appears to be back on track. Sort of.
Lohan’s currently filming the TV movie Liz & Dick … when she isn’t passing out from exhaustion. She also is attached to The Canyons, a Paul Schrader adaptation of a Bret Easton Ellis script – though she’d be “acting” alongside the porn star James Deen. So when we heard Lohan had been circling a part in a fifth Scary Movie installment, we were curious.
Want to know who she’s playing? Well, Perez Hilton says Lohan isn’t playing anything, yet. Sources say that Lohan had a “great meeting” with Dimension head Bob Weinstein, but no part has been written to the actress yet.
More smoke from the Lohan publicity camp? Is there even going to be a Scream 5? We’ll do our best to keep you posted.
