Horror Movie News

Horror in Motion: 'Proxy,' 'Jinn,' 'Deliver Us from Evil'

What's your favorite flavor of scary thrills? We've got three diverse samples of upcoming movies for your viewing pleasure.

A very evocative trailer suggests the horrors that lie within. The story follows an assault victim (Alexia Rasmussen) who joins a support group and becomes good friends with another woman (Alexa Havins). Their friendship is threatened, however, by their shared inability to distinguish between what is real and what is imaginary. The movie opens on April 18 via IFC Films.

For a movie revolving around a jinn, a mythological spirit creature that can possess humans, we were hoping for more horror elements to be played up, but a new trailer instead positions Jinn as a superhero-type adventure. Still, there are hints of supernatural thrills that remain, enough to make us want to see the movie when it comes to theaters on April 4.

Deliver Us from Evil

Based on a true story, Eric Bana stars as an experienced New York police detective who firmly believes that all the evil he has seen on the job is caused by human behavior, not paranormal activity. Then his young daughter starts seeing unsettling things that defy easy answers. Sony will release the new movie from Scott Derrickson (Sinister) on July 2.
