'Harry Potter' Fans, Rejoice! Comprehensive Wizard's Collection Set Coming To Blu-ray/DVD In September

We knew it was coming. And we thought it would be big. But we had no idea how massive it would end up being.

I’m talking, of course, about the Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection, the full set of Harry Potter Blu-rays that Warner Home Video recently revealed would spread all eight movies across 31 discs. The street date for this unprecedented collection will be Friday, Sept. 7.
Described as the most comprehensive Harry Potter set in Warner history, the Wizard’s Collection boasts never-before-seen footage and exclusive material made available on Blu-ray for the first time.
Each movie – from The Sorcerer’s Stone to The Deathly Hallows Part 2 – will be available on Blu-ray, standard DVD, and UltraViolet Digital Copy. All will be presented, according to a press release, in "a stunning gift box measuring 12-3/4" x 10-9/16" x 11-1/4" and weighing 19 lbs. … [that will contain] eight artistic and authentic film memorabilia that are essential for anyone who has ever dreamt of being accepted to Hogwarts."
The studio plans to reveal the exclusive content for the Wizard’s Collection through an online campaign that launches today at www.harrypotter.com.
For now, we know that the set will contain the bonus feature "The Harry Potters You Never Met," which showcases stunts from the films by explaining how many were performed. We also know that there will be an all-new, extended "Conversation with JK Rowling and Daniel Radcliffe" that promises 15 minutes of new footage from the beloved franchise.
This is the moment Harry Potter fanatics have anticipated. From the moment the first Potter films started reaching Blu-ray, we salivated over a time when all eight installments would be packaged into a complete set.
While we begrudgingly said goodbye to "the boy who lived" last year, we knew in the backs of our minds that we’d be able to revisit Harry and his wizarding world any time on DVD and Blu-ray. As of right now, Sept. 7 feels like an eternity away.
The Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection retails for $499.99.
