'Harry Potter' Does Double Duty

This in from Lizerne Guiting: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final book from J.K. Rowling’s series of seven, will be split into two movies.

According to Warner Bros., releasing the final film in two parts will give the book’s vital plot points justice—something fans have been longing for since the beginning.

David Yates, who directed Order of the Phoenix and is currently doing Half-Blood Prince, is set to film Deathly Hallows. It’s the first time the same director has helmed more than two releases in the series.

This could turn into something spectacular—two parts for the final film that should encompass all the book’s details and character arcs. Or it could be double the disaster. If fans didn’t like the direction of Order of the Phoenix they’re in for three more movies from the same guy.

What do you think? Should the series stick to one final release for the last book? Or is splitting it in two a step in the right direction?

Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson
We'll soon be seeing double of this trio.
