'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' Expands to IMAX, Pushes Release Date Back (Again)

Bad news, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters fans. Paramount Pictures just postponed the release date on this mash-up action thriller – again – by a couple of weeks. But all is not lost, for when it finally does open, the studio says it will be available on IMAX screens as well as traditional 2D formats.
First, the delay. Tommy Wirkola’s fairy-tale spin will now open on Jan. 25, 2013 … two weeks behind the Jan. 11 date that had previously been announced. The films stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as older, and well-armed, versions of the classic story characters who head back into the woods to find the witches who almost turned them into a pie.
That sounds like a potentially big adventure. So Paramount also revealed that Witch Hunters will shift to IMAX for this release.
The date switch now puts Hansel & Gretel up against Jason Statham’s Parker and the star-studded goofball comedy Movie 43. So, given the choice, which is those films do you think you would see on Jan. 25?
