'Hangover 3' Set Photos Reveal a Possible Major Spoiler

The “Wolfpack” is coming back for The Hangover Part III … but they might be losing a key member when the comedy reaches theaters on May 24.

At least, that’s what has been suggested in photos director Todd Phillips is sharing from the set of the anticipated sequel, which has been filming in various locations for the past few weeks.

Here’s what we do know about the movie: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha are reuniting for the third Hangover movie, which also is bringing back several familiar faces such as Heather Graham and Ken Jeong. But details on the plot are largely being kept under wraps. Phillips has said in interviews that they’re able to ditch the “hungover” template that powered the first two films. And there has been a persistent rumor about the group having to bail Galifianakis’ character, Alan, out of a mental institute.

Now we might know why.

And if you don’t want to know why, stop reading, as we’re about to get SPOILERY!

On his Instagram page, Phillips posted a photo of his actors attending what looks to be a funeral:

But who will die? ScreenCrush is running with a rumor that it will be Alan’s father (played by Jeffrey Tambor in the original film) who will pass at the beginning of the film. Maybe that will send Alan over the cliff into insanity?

There are still plenty of questions that need to be answered about the sequel. Like, who are these armed guys in the pig masks?

We’ll have to wait until The Hangover Part III opens in theaters next summer. In the meantime, pay attention to Phillips’ Instagram page for more Hangover details.
