Go on the Impossible Journey of Adapting 'Life of Pi'

So far, Life of Pi has earned some solid early praise following its premiere a couple weeks ago at the New York Film Festival. The film was once considered "unfilmable" even by author Yann Martel.

A new featurette released today goes behind the scenes of piecing together the film, including commentary from director Ang Lee and some of the challenges he faced in adapting the best-selling novel.

Lee talks about having to digitally insert a CGI Bengal tiger into some of the scenes and the meticulous work that went into animating the creature.

The film stars Suraj Sharma as Pi along with Gerard Depardieu, Adil Hussain and Rafe Spall. Life of Pi opens in theaters November 21.
