Gandalf, Bilbo, Legolas and More Featured in New 'Hobbit' Character Posters

It certainly feels like it has been more than a year since the first installment of Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy. With the days gradually approaching the release of the second chapter – The Desolation of Smaug – seven new character posters and a new one sheet have arrived online.

The posters coincide with today's Hobbit Worldwide Fan Event scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. EST. You can watch that here, along with the Thor: The Dark World red-carpet event.

The first chapter of the Hobbit trilogy was a worldwide success, banking over $1 billion and there's no reason to think that this latest installment won't perform equally as well.

Check out the latest posters below and don't miss our 10 Things We Learned on the Set of Desolation of Smaug as well as the most recent trailer.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens in theaters December 13.

Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins

Ian McKellen as Gandalf

Lee Pace as Thranduil

Luke Evans as Bard the Bowman

Orlando Bloom as Legolas

Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel

Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield

And finally, the cast of characters on the new one sheet for the film.
