Fun Finds: Jurassic Park: The Musical

Sure, a number of movies are now being turned into Broadway musicals (Catch Me If You Can and Newsies being the latest movies-turned-musicals), but you have to admit that … well, heck, dinosaurs deserve their time in the spotlight too. Though, sadly, Jurassic Park is not one of the films heading to Broadway anytime soon (boo!), a group of college students in Lincoln, Nebraska thought it’d be fun to stage their own version of Jurassic Park: The Musical because … well, why the hell not?

Luckily for those who don’t live in Lincoln, Nebraska, someone taped the 45-minute production and put it online for all to see. Jurassic Park – and all its awesome, man-eating dinosaurs – may not be getting a Broadway musical anytime soon, but at least we can take comfort in knowing it’s not entirely out of the question … right?
Watch both parts of the fan-made Jurassic Park musical below and let us know what you think. Is Broadway ready for the dinosaurs, or should this musical stay in Nebraska where it belongs?
