Even though Sunday evening was the MTV Music Awards, and the conversation this morning centered primarily on Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and the truncated N’Sync “reunion,” a big bit of movie news dropped in the form of a Divergent trailer, which Summit aired during the awards telecast.
Did you miss it? Never fear. We’ve got you covered.
And yes, before you even say it, the film looks a little Hunger Games-y, with Tris (Shailene Woodley) surviving in a dystopian future until she learns that she’s “different” from others and unable to fit cleanly into any one category. Then, we see lots of guns, hand-to-hand combat, a smoldering love interest, and Kate Winslet.
Twitter exploded after the trailer hit, proclaiming:
I legit can't stop watching the divergent trailer it is soo good! #Divergent— Cassandra Caruso (@sunnyhotSANDra) August 26, 2013
Cause of death: #divergent— Ariel (@ariel_brianna) August 26, 2013
I think that last one’s positive. I’m not 100% sure. If she’s happy with the trailer, she’s going to want to stick around until March 2014, when Neil Burger’s adaptation of Veronica Roth’s best-selling YA novel finally reaches theaters.
And keep your eyes on our site this Tuesday, because we have something special related to Divergent planned. No hints. Just come on back and see.
